Expertlancing Research Services LLP

Expertlancing Research Services LLP is committed to transparency and the responsible handling of your personal data. This policy complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and we are actively monitoring the implementation of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) and will update this policy as its requirements are fully notified.

1.  Introduction

Expertlancing Research Services LLP (“ExpertLancing”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is an IP research and advisory firm headquartered in Gurugram, India, serving clients globally. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through our website (expertlancing.com), why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.

This policy applies to visitors to our website – whether you are a prospective client, existing client, job applicant, or general visitor. It covers data collected through our website forms, cookies, and tracking tools.

Important distinction: This policy governs data collected through our website. It does not govern how we handle data as part of our research and advisory services delivered to clients under separate contractual agreements, where ExpertLancing acts as a data processor under the client’s instructions.

By using our website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please do not use our website.

6.  Cookies and Tracking Technologies

6.1  Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. GA4 collects anonymised usage data – such as pages visited, session duration, and referral source – and sends it to Google’s servers. We have enabled IP anonymisation. We do not use GA4 for advertising purposes.

You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by declining analytics cookies through our cookie consent banner.

6.2  LinkedIn Insight Tag

We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure the effectiveness of our LinkedIn campaigns and to understand, at an aggregated level, the professional profile of our website visitors. This tag may set a cookie that LinkedIn uses for conversion tracking and audience analytics.

You can opt out via LinkedIn’s opt-out page, or by declining marketing cookies through our cookie consent banner.

7.  Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Google (via GA4): for website analytics, under Google’s data processing terms.
  • LinkedIn (via Insight Tag): for marketing analytics, under LinkedIn’s data processing terms.
  • Email service providers: to deliver newsletters and marketing emails, subject to confidentiality obligations.
  • IT and system administration vendors: who support our website and infrastructure, subject to confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal and regulatory authorities: if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights and the safety of others.
  • Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of ExpertLancing, your data may be transferred to the successor entity, who will be bound by this policy.

8.  International Data Transfers

ExpertLancing is based in India. If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, your data may be transferred to and processed in India and other countries that may have different data protection standards.

Where such transfers occur – for example, via Google Analytics or LinkedIn – we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, as incorporated in the data processing agreements those providers maintain. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely regardless of where it is processed.

9.  How Long We Keep Your Data

We do not hold your data longer than necessary. Specific retention periods are:

  • Contact form submissions: up to 2 years from last contact, unless you request earlier deletion.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: retained until you unsubscribe, after which we retain only the minimum record required to honour your opt-out.
  • Marketing communications opt-out records: retained indefinitely to ensure we do not contact you again.
  • Analytics data (GA4): up to 14 months, per Google Analytics default settings.
  • LinkedIn pixel data: governed by LinkedIn’s own retention policies.
  • Professional data used for outreach: reviewed and purged on a regular cycle, or sooner upon request.

When data is no longer needed for any applicable purpose, it is securely deleted or anonymised.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law (including GDPR and the UK GDPR), you may have the following rights:

  • Right to access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and information on how it is processed.

We are actively monitoring developments and will update this policy as and when requirements become applicable. To the extent any provisions are already in force, we are committed to compliance.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the tools we use, or applicable legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, notify you by email or a prominent notice on our website.
