With the high costs and potential shortage of lithium, battery producers and scientists are exploring alternatives like sodium-ion batteries. These new technologies align with the global goal of achieving carbon neutrality. Countries and researchers are turning to sodium-ion batteries for several reasons tied to sustainability. First, sodium is much more abundant and easier to find than lithium. This means there are fewer worries about running out of resources or dealing with high costs.
